Bruno had a little grey in his coat, but he was still pretty agile, as he walked around on two legs. Just to show us how big he was he walked around and changed the burned out light bulbs in the nine foot ceiling said. He did not want to put all that height to waste. Emie not wanting to waste such a talent suggested that Bruno volunteer to be next months volunteer Janitor. Bruno agreed if his stint as a volunteer would include a modest stipend of Honey, and the right of first refusal on any the meetings garbage.

Okay, but you gotta sort the recyclables, and always put the cover back on the garbage cans, and if we find any garbage strewn around you are fired.

The meeting all said in unison.

I was sure Bruno would do an excellent job with garbage because he was a volunteer, and the one thing a volunteer hates above all others is to be fired.

Bruno told us a little about himself One of the things that brought Bruno to the Quakers was the stock market. He had worked for some years as a Stock analyst in New York. At first he was very successful and sought out by many top portfolio managers for his advice, but he said his success was ephemeral, because it was in his nature as a bear to predict the market would go down. He said the crash of 87 was his best year, but eleven years of a bull market was pretty tough on that old bear. He also mentioned that he had done a stint as a circus bear ridding a unicycle, but that was when he was a much younger smaller bear. He had made it to final cut as an offensive guard for The Green Bay Packers in 1972, but then the NFL passed the no "fur bearing animals on the roster resolution" so his playing was out of the question. Actually that did,didn't break his heart, because he said the wind sprints were killing him.He spent sometime in the World Wrestling Federation, but as a plain old Black Bear, Bruno was just not colorful enough for the circuit.
